Nicole Shechtman
Research Analyst III
Nikki Shechtman's projects all embody a vision of helping middle school students from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds gain greater access to conceptually rich mathematics. With a foundation in experimental psychology, her focus in these projects is on research methodology, working on all stages of the design cycle, from construction of research questions and appropriate design, to development and validation of instruments, to gathering of large, complex data sets, to analyses that answer the research questions.
Her two major projects are (1) the Scaling Up SimCalc project, a randomized field experiment for which she leads the assessment development, experimental design, data collection infrastructure, and data analyses; and (2) the Bridging Project, a professional development design experiment for which she leads the research strand. Please follow the links below to learn more about these projects.
