Frank Adamson

Student Associate

In addition to his role as a Student Associate at SRI International, Frank Adamson is currently enrolled in the doctoral program at Stanford University’s School of Education, concentrating in the field of International Comparative Education. His dissertation research uses the PISA dataset to focus on the role of critical thinking, specifically metacognition, for students joining the knowledge economy. In conjunction with the CPRE project at Stanford, Frank has developed and piloted a high school principal survey that collects information on the use of data, literacy programs, and ELL programs in California high schools.

Before beginning at Stanford, Frank worked at AIR in Washington D.C. for 4 years providing international technical assistance, participating in large scale evaluations for the U.S. Department of Education, and developing Language Arts assessments. His expertise in Language Arts stems from his undergraduate major of Comparative Literature at Haverford College and his subsequent teaching experience of AP Language and Composition at Christchurch Episcopal Boarding School. At CTL, Frank uses his expertise in international education on the Tablet PC project in Singapore. He also brings classroom and assessment experience to the ASK assessment system project for the FOSS elementary science curriculum.
