Bladimir Lopez-Prado
Research Data Coordinator
Bladimir Lopez-Prado has worked collecting, processing and analyzing research data since he was an undergraduate student. Later, during graduate school and work, Bladimir deepened his research into the intricacies of data cleaning, formatting, analyzing and reporting, using several statistical software packages.
Bladimir worked for the Santa Clara County of Education (SCCOE) as a Research Analyst, extracting, analyzing and reporting educational data from several sources, such as the California Department of Education (CDE), to 400 schools in Santa Clara County, California. Bladimir also helped school districts to clean and load data files into "SchoolPlan", an online database hosted at the SCCOE that "used data to inform instruction" for 250,000 students from several counties in California. Bladimir was also in charge of operating a paper and online survey system to garner parents, students and school staff perceptions of schools in ten different areas. He created, distributed and processed more than 20,000 surveys per year and created graphical reporting tools for the SCCOE, the districts and the schools. In addition he worked as a certified English-Spanish translator for the SCCOE and county schools.
Since coming to CTL in 2006, Bladimir has worked on more than 30 research projects, providing clean data files to researchers for further analysis, coordinating field data collections and gathering data from several public databases, such as NCES, GLOBE project, US CENSUS and several States Departments of Education. Other duties in his current position include: data manipulations and file formatting per researchers and/or software requirements, survey tracking and survey return rate reports per researchers and/or clients needs, descriptive analysis of research data files and documentation of data checking/cleaning process.
